Friday Night Funkin' is a live band based in the Seattle area, made up of three friends who met at the University of Washington. They play a variety of covers and original songs, aiming to make each of their performances different and memorable. Although their chemistry is undeniable, the band was originally formed by their friend Alison Burtchley. The name comes from her habit of playing video games on Friday nights with her best friend—who happens to be the drummer for this group. As rhythm games continue to grow in popularity, more developers are looking to adapt popular titles into full-fledged bands. From the Harmonix's Rock Band series to Sega's VIRTUAL ONES, more than ever before, more game companies understand the value of a comprehensive live performance. Also, games of this kind are challenging enough that no one would expect an amateur band in club attire to take the helm. In other words: perfect conditions for Friday Night
